The Paradise Animal Hospital and Wellness Centre in Paradise, NL (suburbs of St. John’s) is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our progressive, busy, small animal practice. At PAHWC, we value the bond we share with our clients and their four-legged family members. To help you serve them better, we offer 30-minute appointment times, file dictation, and the support of 30 knowledgeable support staff. We provide a walk-in service from 8 am to 10 am for urgent care or emergency appointments, with rotating doctor schedules to cover these walk-ins. As an RVT, this setup offers daily opportunities to utilize your technician skills.

We are equipped with a full IDEXX laboratory, digital radiography, two dental suites with dental radiography, Companion Therapy Laser CDX, ultrasound, Cornerstone management software, and more. About The Role:

Our ideal Client Care/Receptionist builds positive client relationships by showing genuine care and compassion for clients and their pets, being respectful in all interactions, and providing exceptional customer service. Responsibilities include greeting and checking in clients warmly, handling incoming calls courteously, screening calls, booking appointments, taking detailed messages, and providing knowledgeable non-medical information to clients. Additional duties involve performing various administrative tasks such as mail handling, drafting memos, completing reports, and other ad-hoc document requests. Excellent communication skills with clients and staff are essential. Experience in client care reception and veterinary assistant skills are assets. The candidate must be available to cover emergency call shifts approximately once every 6 weeks.
