The City of Lethbridge is seeking casual clerical staff to support various municipal teams. Successful candidates will perform administrative duties, provide customer service, and adapt to changing assignments. This flexible role offers exposure to many areas within the organization, although hours are not guaranteed.
Casual Clerical Pool
(Non-permanent, casual-hours employment; up to 3 positions available)
Are you an enthusiastic individual with extensive clerical/administrative experience in an office setting, who possesses excellent customer service skills and a positive can-do attitude? If this describes your career profile, then the City of Lethbridge (www.lethbridge.ca) wants to hear from you! We are currently seeking highly experienced customer-oriented individuals with superior administrative skillsets, to join our casual clerical team. Casual clerical employees work in relief capacities across our organization on an as-needed basis to provide coverage for vacation, sick leave, and short-term assignments. Hours and assignments are variable, based on business unit needs and demands. Although hours are not guaranteed, our diverse setting provides an excellent opportunity for casual clerical employees to get a broad range of exposure within various fields in municipal government.
The Role:
As our top candidates, you will be expected to quickly learn new information and tasks, often independently, in various office environments. Your primary responsibilities will include performing various clerical and administrative duties, that include:
Answering general inquiries and interacting with internal and external customers
Data entry tasks and general office administration work
Assistance with projects and events
*Please note:
Candidates under consideration must have flexible schedules and be available on short notice
Remote work is usually not an option for these roles, as they often involve in-person, customer-focused assignments
Experience and professional skillset:
Office Administration diploma or related post-secondary education preferred
Minimum one-year experience working in an administrative/office setting
Excellent computer skills to successfully work with a variety of software programs in a Windows 10 and Office 365 environment
Experience working with Excel Spreadsheets, Word and Outlook
Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of internal and external customers
Experience with basic accounting and financial transactions
Comfort and flexibility with changing assignments and work locations

Wage: $29.33 per hour
