The Salvation Army is seeking a Store Clerk/Sales Associate to provide friendly customer service, process transactions, and help maintain an organized store in Nanaimo, Canada. You will contribute to inventory management, merchandising, and daily store operations under supervision.
Qualifications include completing Public School and up to three months of related experience. The role requires standing for long periods and basic cash-handling skills.

JOB PURPOSE: The Store Clerk/Sales Associate provides service to customers, sorts incoming products, and assists the manager in the maintenance of all store operations.
NOTE: Not all incumbents perform all of the duties described above but perform a similar range of duties.
The successful job applicant will have completed Public School. NOTE: An alternative level of education and experience may be acceptable.
The successful applicant will hold/have: N/A
The incumbent must have the following experience before hire: Up to three months of prior related experience, including life skills.
The performance of the job requires continuously standing for long periods of time, frequent twisting, bending, crouching, reaching, reaching overhead, pushing and pulling, lifting, kneeling and entering data for transactions.
The performance of the job requires visual monitoring and frequently working with numbers.
The incumbent’s responsibility for Financial Resources: The incumbent is involved in minor financial matters regularly, or on a relief basis, or has responsibility for the wise use of his/her own resources. He/She may be authorized to spend, disburse, or collect small amounts of cash. The incumbent has very little input into the annual budget.
The incumbent’s responsibility for Human Resources: The incumbent is responsible for his/her own time and effort only. He/She may demonstrate work methods to new employees, volunteers and/or students.
The incumbent may have little to no travel required. The incumbent works shift (days/nights - vary week to week).
The target hiring range for this position is $19.02 to $19.02 with a maximum of $19.02. Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
