Role Overview

As a Meat Clerk, you will interact directly with customers, assist with product preparation, and ensure the quality and presentation of our meat and seafood offerings. Safeway provides training specific to our operations.

Preferred Experience

• Previous Meat or Seafood experience preferred
• Safeway-specific training will be provided

Key Responsibilities

• Uphold company procedures, standards, and policies
• Greet and assist customers courteously
• Maintain and build merchandise displays
• Order writing, product receiving, and rotation
• Filling counters, using scales, pricing meats and seafood
• Cleaning and sanitizing work areas
• Work with raw and cooked seafood

Qualifications

• Ability to learn quickly and work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work safely and responsibly
• Able to work in cold environments and flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
• Availability on Sundays (Alberta)

Physical Requirements

• Constant lifting of up to 20 pounds
• Occasional lifting of 20-50 pounds
• Frequent standing, bending, walking, twisting, carrying, pushing, or pulling
• Occasional exposure to cold temperatures
