Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager of the Rural Central Staffing Office, the Clerk IV - Staffing Clerk position provides staff scheduling support to all of the Rural Covenant Health Sites. The Staffing Clerk uses the ESP & ASC staff scheduling applications, and works within established staff scheduling processes to complete complex and often urgent staff scheduling tasks within short time lines in a busy, high pressure environment. You will ensure that employees are scheduled appropriately and employee pay data is captured in accordance with Covenant Health policies, procedures, and collective agreement provisions. You must enjoy providing outstanding customer service in a fast paced environment while adapting to frequent interruptions and shifting priorities. Your key responsibilities will include: filling pre-booked and immediate shifts that result from staff vacation, leave of absence, illness and education leave; anticipating staffing needs and informing managers of shifts that require further attention; entering data for payroll; and providing scheduling reports, records and statistical information. As a Full-Time clerk, you will have a consistent desk assignment and the opportunity to build solid relationships with the management teams at the site(s) you are supporting. The full-time clerk takes ownership of the desk and in conjunction with the RCSO & site leadership creates processes and procedures specific to the desk as required. You will attend meetings relevant to the desk whenever required, and be the first line of support for the site employees and management. The full-time clerk has the responsibility to ensure all unit profiles are maintained and up-to-date, and that the desk is running smoothly and efficiently. The full-time clerk is responsible for keeping the other RCSO employees up-to-date on all procedure and personnel changes.

The Clerk IV performs these tasks in accordance with established standards, and the Mission, Vision, Values, policies and procedures of Covenant Health. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the AUPE General Support Services Collective Agreement.
