Job summary

Sobeys Mill Bay is seeking a part-time Grocery Clerk to deliver friendly customer service, maintain shelves, and process orders. The role focuses on accuracy, speed, and helping customers find what they need in a welcoming environment.

You will follow Food Safety Protocols and SOPs, assist with stocking, and contribute to a clean, organized store while supporting Sobeys' community focus.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Above-average communication skills (oral and written).
• Physical work including lifting up to 20 lbs and being on your feet for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Food Safety Protocols, SOPs, Health and Safety and company policies.
• Order, receive, and merchandise stock per inventory procedures.
• Provide superior customer service to meet customer needs.
• Increase store sales by promoting featured products.
• Perform back shop and retail floor maintenance to keep areas clean and presentable.
• Prep customer orders when required.
• Process department shrink as required.
• Participate in training of junior staff.
• Other duties as required.

The Grocery Clerk is responsible for carrying out the full range of duties of the position in a professional, responsible, accurate and timely fashion. The Clerk will deliver exceptional customer service, foster customer loyalty, fulfill customer needs, and actively contribute to an environment of employee and customer engagement.
