Overview

The Grocery Clerk is responsible for executing a range of duties professionally, accurately, and promptly. The role involves delivering exceptional customer service, fostering loyalty, fulfilling customer needs, and contributing to an engaging environment for employees and customers.

Job Responsibilities
  • Adhere to all Food Safety Protocols, Standard Operating Procedures, Health and Safety guidelines, corporate policies, and other initiatives.
  • Provide excellent customer service to meet customer needs.
  • Maintain a clean and presentable work area.
  • Process grocery orders efficiently.
  • Execute merchandising and program initiatives.
  • Perform retail floor maintenance.
  • Maintain the back shop area.
  • Receive warehouse orders accurately.
  • Promote products actively to increase store sales.
  • Participate in training junior staff members.
  • Order and receive stock according to inventory control procedures.
  • Manage department shrinkage.
  • Ensure a safe and clean working environment.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Additional Responsibilities for Ontario
  • Receive, unload, and verify incoming shipments against documentation.
  • Tag and mark pallets, complete receiving paperwork.
  • Compare packing slips with goods and input data into SAP system.
  • Report unsafe equipment or conditions.
  • Communicate effectively with store management and staff regarding shipments.
