Role Overview

A day in the life of a General Clerk involves maintaining a well-stocked store, ensuring quick and efficient shopping experiences for customers. Full training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Upholds and complies with company procedures, standards, and policies
• Stocks shelves with dairy, frozen, perishable, and non-perishable items
• Maintains and builds merchandise displays following Safeway programs
• Performs product rotation, loading, unloading, backroom, and inventory management
• Operates cash register during peak hours
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Store Manager

Qualifications

• Ability to learn quickly and work in a fast-paced environment
• Motivated, team-oriented, and customer service focused
• Effective communication skills in oral and written forms
• Availability to work between 11:00 pm – 7:30 am, with flexibility for day transfers and Sunday shifts (Alberta only)

Physical Requirements

• Constant lifting of up to 20 pounds
• Frequent bending, walking, standing, twisting, pushing, or pulling
• Occasional lifting of 20-50 pounds
• Occasional use of computer and POS systems
• Occasional crouching, kneeling, squatting
