Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Supervisor – Customer Service performs clerical and communications duties.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Receives, records, and relays telephone and radio inquiries between base radio and appropriate personnel.
  • Liaises with the public and Corporate departments in a courteous and tactful manner; provides general information and directions to telephone and counter inquiries; documents information according to Departmental policy and procedures.
  • Participates in the preparation, assignment, and maintenance of an automated customer service order system including resolution data, monitoring, and report preparation.
  • Receives, distributes, and prepares incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Inputs data in SAP for financial records including activity allocations, statistical key figures, and allocations.
  • Participates in the records management functions within the Department including archiving of manual records.
  • Participates in the processing of accounts payable.
  • Performs stenographic and clerical duties.
  • Obtains, dispatches, and records weather information.
  • Maintains the computerized reports for tracking expenses and statistics.
  • Participates in maintenance of computerized and manual records including data input and scanning for various corporate/departmental applications, including SAP, customer service, Integrated Infrastructure Maintenance Management systems, and records management applications.
  • Performs such other related duties as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
  • Secondary school graduation
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
Skills/Abilities:
  • Must have good customer service skills
  • Must be at a basic skill level in keyboarding, word processing, and spreadsheet software
Assets:
  • Knowledge of the physical layout of the Municipality is desirable
