Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Upholds and complies with company procedures, standards and policies in all situations
2. Greets customers in a polite and friendly manner
3. Demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with Safeway’s programs
4. Assists customers with product selection and special orders
5. Sets up and maintains displays of bakery products
6. Wraps and slices bread products
7. Fills showcases in department and ensures bakery products are properly displayed and rotated
8. Performs general cleaning and sanitizing duties
9. Fries donuts (Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario only)

1. Ability to learn quickly
2. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
3. Highly motivated and team-oriented
4. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both oral and written form
5. Works in a safe and responsible manner
6. Available to work flexible hours
7. Evening and weekend availability is strongly encouraged
8. Must be available to be scheduled anytime on Sunday (Alberta Only)

Physical Requirements

(Seldom: Not Daily, Rare: 0-5% of shift, Occasional: 6-33% of shift, Frequent: 34-66% of shift, Constant: 66-100% of shift)

1. Frequent lifting of up to 15 pounds
2. Frequent bending, walking, reaching, twisting, carrying, pushing or pulling
3. Occasional lifting of between 15-45 lbs including waist level and low level lifts
