The Finance Department is seeking high energy individuals to work in an auxiliary capacity in the Revenue Services – Property Tax and Utility organizational unit. The ideal candidate will have the knowledge, skills, and ability to assist in the day-to-day processing of property tax and utility collections.

The incumbent will perform duties including, but not limited to:

  • Processing payments
  • Maintaining standard office records
  • Providing information concerning provincial legislation, by-laws and departmental rules and regulations to the public
  • Receiving and checking a variety of material for arithmetical accuracy and completeness
  • Operating a variety of common office appliances
  • Assisting the public in person, over the phone and by email
  • Performs related work as required


Qualifications include completion of Grade 12, preferably supplemented by or including standard commercial courses, and some experience in general office and clerical work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. As a Clerk 2, you will bring sound knowledge of the rules and regulations which govern activities in the department concerned. This role will also possess you to have the ability to establish and maintain satisfactory working relationships with the public and other employees. Additionally, you will have the skills in making simple arithmetical computations, and filing, sorting, checking, and maintaining office records.

Pay Rate: $27.30 per hour + 12% in lieu of benefits (2024 Rates)

Location: City Hall

Hours of Work: Hours and shifts are dependent on operational requirements and are scheduled by the department on an as needed basis. The successful incumbent should have availability from Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
