The City of North Vancouver seeks a Clerk 1 to support the Fire Department in scanning records for approximately 6 weeks. This auxiliary position involves document management responsibilities and requires attention to detail, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office. Ideal candidates will have general office experience and strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with City staff.

Public Safety has an exciting opportunity for a Clerk 1 to work with the Fire Department in an auxiliary capacity for approximately 6 weeks from July 14, 2025 until August 30, 2025.
Responsibilities
In this position you will be responsible for scanning various records in the Fire Department and saving them as electronic documents. Duties will involve preparing the documents for scanning, scanning documents in batches, ensuring scan accuracy, saving scanned files into the City’s electronic Records Management System, and preparing hardcopies for archiving.
Requirements
You will have general office experience, demonstrated ability in Microsoft Office and computer applications related to the work and the ability to meet deadlines. Strong interpersonal skills are important for this role, as is attention to detail, a high degree of accuracy, and the ability to deal effectively with City staff.
Compensation
$25.22 per hour + 12% in lieu of benefits
(Pay Grade 11 – January 2024 rates)
Hours of Work
Approximately 30 hours per week between the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. – Monday to Friday
Additional Information
This position is subject to approval and partial funding by the Employment & Social Development Canada – Canada Summer Jobs Program, therefore, applicants must meet program criteria, which includes being between 15 to 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment. Proof of age will be required.
