Job Overview

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Clerical Support Person.

Reporting to the First Line Manager-Small Facilities, this position is responsible for administrative and clerical support in a business office environment, ensuring all tasks are performed in accordance with prescribed safety procedures and regulations. The role involves document management, reception duties, and coordination of office activities, including meetings and shipments.

Key Accountabilities
  • Administrative Support:
    • Produce correspondence, reports, presentation materials, standard forms, numerical data, and other documentation using office equipment and various computer software.
    • Schedule and maintain a calendar of events, work schedules, and vacation records.
  • Records & Document Control:
    • Perform records management and document control support functions throughout all phases of the documentation life cycle.
    • Process, distribute, and track documentation; verify details, compile statistics, and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Office Operations:
    • Maintain inventory of stationery and office supplies, process material requests, and check delivery documents against original orders.
    • Perform mail and receptionist duties as required, including coordinating shipping and receiving.
    • Maintain documentation related to all aspects of the job.
    • Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of self and others, following established technical and operating procedures.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Grade 11 or equivalent education.
  • Experience with administrative tasks, including organizing meetings, performing reception duties, and coordinating shipments (shipping and receiving).
  • Proficiency in using office equipment and a variety of computer software to produce documents and manage records.
  • Ability to work at the workcenter in Timmins, ON.

The base salary range considers many factors including, but not limited to experience, education, and training, including any collective agreement requirements for union represented positions. It is not typical for the salary to be offered near the top of the range, and salary is dependent on numerous factors. For management roles, the base salary range does not represent the total compensation package. The total compensation package for regular full-time management roles includes pay-for-performance programs for annual and medium time periods.
