Job Description

Salary Range: $26.114 - $28.313

Schedule & Shift

12-hour shifts

Expected Hours: Approximately 37.5 hours weekly (not a guarantee)

Position Summary:

As a key member of our Registration/Admission Clerical team, responsibilities include but are not limited to: registration and admission, updating demographic information, order entry, bookings, creating patient charts, filing, bed board management, patient transfer, arranging patient transport, verifying and updating medical insurance, collecting payments for uninsured services, and meeting with patients or families for accommodation preferences. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering excellent customer service and must maintain strict confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with PHIPA.

This position involves various scheduled shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays. Full-time employees are expected to be available for all scheduled shifts. Physical demands may include sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and bending. The role contributes to maintaining a safe environment and enhancing patient experience. Other duties as per job fact sheet. Posted hours are subject to change.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Medical Office Administration Program certificate required
  • Medical Terminology Certificate required
  • Minimum two years of current hospital Patient Registration/Admissions/Discharges experience
  • One year of current experience in a medicine program
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer use
  • Experience with Meditech admissions and order entry
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills with attention to accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good judgment, decision-making, and workflow coordination skills
  • Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
  • Reliable attendance is required
