Job summary

BRIGHTER CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE SERVICES in Nanaimo, BC, Canada is seeking a dedicated Cleaning Technician for a full-time, permanent role. The ideal candidate will maintain high cleanliness standards and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities include cleaning and disinfecting restrooms, sweeping floors, restocking supplies, operating portable pressure washers for exterior cleaning, inspecting dispensers, and reporting damages.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in cleaning or janitorial services preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methods.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting and moving heavy objects.
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Valid driver's license with Class 5.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect all toilet surfaces, including seats, handles, walls, and fixtures.
• Sweep and sanitize floors; remove debris, litter, and cobwebs.
• Clean exterior areas around facilities (entrances, vegetation, garbage).
• Restock supplies such as toilet paper and hand sanitizer.
• Demonstrated experience safely operating power tools, including portable pressure washers, for exterior surface and deep cleaning work.
• Inspect and maintain dispensers to ensure proper functioning.
• Add enzymes to vault toilets and monitor waste levels.
• Travel between multiple park locations following assigned routes.
• Complete cleaning tasks according to scheduled frequencies.
• Report damages, hazards, or maintenance issues immediately.
• Maintain daily records of completed work and site conditions.
• Follow all safety procedures and use cleaning chemicals properly.
• Maintain professional conduct while working in public areas.
