Job summary

Aramark in Inuvik is seeking an experienced Housekeeping / Cleaning Manager to lead housekeeping and laundry operations at Inuvik Regional Hospital. You will oversee a team to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Reporting to the Site Manager, you will implement schedules, ensure infection control standards, train staff, manage inventory, and uphold the Quality Assurance program.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years in housekeeping or related field with supervisory duties.
• Experience supervising housekeeping teams.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong leadership, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Develops work schedules for all facility areas and assigns daily tasks to custodial teams.
• Supervises attendants on shifts, ensuring cleaning and infection control standards.
• Maintains safe working environment per health and safety standards.
• Complies with OSHA and Aramark regulations.
• Trains new staff and orients them to responsibilities.
• Cleans and maintains housekeeping equipment.
• Assists in staff selection and performance management with Site Manager.
• Ensures adherence to Quality Assurance program.
• Evaluates cleaning products/equipment and recommends purchases.
• Handles waste storage and disposal and transports to designated areas.
• Reports maintenance concerns via work orders.
• Secures facilities and assets.
• Performs audits and manages housekeeping inventory.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Site Manager.

Job Responsibilities

• Develops work schedules for all areas of the facility and assigns daily work assignments to a custodial team and oversees the completion of Tasks
• Supervises the Housekeeping attendants on assigned shifts in the performance of their work schedules. Ensures adherence to established departmental cleaning and infection control standards and service expectations.
• Adheres to established procedures to provide a safe working environment including complying with Health & safety standards and procedures.
• Comply with OSHA, state/local, federal, and Aramark regulations
• Conducts the orientation and provide support of training new departmental staff and familiarizes them with their position responsibilities.
• Properly cleans and maintains housekeeping equipment.
• Assists with staff selection, engagement, praise, disciplinary action and termination in consultation with the Site Manager.
• Ensures adherence to the departmental Quality Assurance program
• Assists with the evaluation of cleaning products/equipment and makes recommendations for purchase and for proper use of the cleaning products and equipment.
• Follows procedures for storage and disposal of trash and transports it to designated areas
• Reports on maintenance concerns via work order requests to appropriate personnel
• Secure the facility, ensuring buildings are locked/unlocked as required
• Ensures security of company assets
• Performing Audits and managing inventory for housekeeping services
• Other duties and tasks assigned by the site manager

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of experience in housekeeping, custodial, environmental services, laundry operations, or a related field, including supervisory or leadership responsibilities.
• Previous experience supervising housekeeping, custodial, janitorial, or environmental services teams.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
