Job summary

Aramark is seeking a Housekeeping / Cleaning Manager to lead housekeeping and laundry operations at Inuvik Regional Hospital in Inuvik, Northwest Territories. You will oversee a custodial team, manage schedules, and ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients and staff.

The role emphasizes leadership, safety, and service excellence, with relocation support, shared accommodation, and a Monday–Friday schedule. The pay range is $55,000.00–$65,000.00 USD annually.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of housekeeping or related supervisory experience.
  • Experience supervising housekeeping/custodial teams.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

  • Develops work schedules for all areas of the facility and assigns daily work assignments to a custodial team and oversees the completion of tasks.
  • Supervises the housekeeping attendants on assigned shifts and ensures cleaning and infection control standards are met.
  • Adheres to safety standards and procedures to provide a safe working environment.
  • Complies with OSHA, local, state, federal, and Aramark regulations.
  • Conducts orientation and training for new departmental staff and clarifies responsibilities.
  • Cleans and maintains housekeeping equipment.
  • Assists with staff selection, engagement, praise, disciplinary actions, and termination in consultation with the Site Manager.
  • Ensures adherence to the departmental Quality Assurance program.
  • Evaluates cleaning products/equipment and recommends purchases and proper use.
  • Follows procedures for storage and disposal of trash and transports it as required.
  • Reports maintenance concerns via work orders to appropriate personnel.
  • Secures the facility and ensures assets are protected.
  • Performs audits and manages inventory for housekeeping services.
  • Other duties assigned by the site manager.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adheres to established procedures to provide a safe working environment including complying with Health & safety standards and procedures.
  • Comply with OSHA, state/local, federal, and Aramark regulations
  • Conducts the orientation and provide support of training new departmental staff and familiarizes them with their position responsibilities.
  • Properly cleans and maintains housekeeping equipment.
  • Assists with staff selection, engagement, praise, disciplinary action and termination in consultation with the Site Manager.
  • Ensures adherence to the departmental Quality Assurance program
  • Assists with the evaluation of cleaning products/equipment and makes recommendations for purchase and for proper use of the cleaning products and equipment.
  • Follows procedures for storage and disposal of trash and transports it to designated areas
  • Reports on maintenance concerns via work order requests to appropriate personnel
  • Secure the facility, ensuring buildings are locked/unlocked as required
  • Ensures security of company assets
  • Performing Audits and managing inventory for housekeeping services
  • Other duties and tasks assigned by the site manager
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in housekeeping, custodial, environmental services, laundry operations, or a related field, including supervisory or leadership responsibilities.
  • Previous experience supervising housekeeping, custodial, janitorial, or environmental services teams.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
