Job summary

Provincial & Demonstration Schools Branch located in Milton is hiring for two temporary on-call cleaning positions at Ernest C. Drury School for the Deaf / Trillium Demonstration School campuses.

The roles run up to 12 months with hourly pay between $24.68 and $26.67 per hour under the OPSEU Collective Agreement. Responsibilities include daily cleaning, snow/ice removal, operating buffing and shampoo machines, stocking and delivering supplies, and shifts may include day or afternoon hours.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of equipment, materials and cleaning processes.
• Knowledge of WHMIS requirements for the handling of chemical solutions.
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements related to workplace hazards.
• Communication, analytical and prioritization skills to determine daily priorities, maintain a schedule of tasks, requisition supplies and report problems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain premises by performing all aspects of daily cleaning (dusting, vacuuming, cleaning and disinfecting washrooms, shower and bath areas, furniture, walls, windows and garbage containers; wet mopping floors; picking up garbage and recycling).
• Remove snow and ice from doorways and emergency exits as required.
• Operate and maintain equipment such as buffing and shampoo machines.
• Requisition and deliver supplies, and load and unload trucks.
• Be available to work day and afternoon shifts as required.

Job term: 2 temporary positions (irregular/on-call, to work on an as-needed basis), duration up to 12 months. Salary: $24.68 – $26.67 per hour (as per the OPSEU Collective Agreement).
