Job description

ISS offers full-time employees a variety of benefits including medical, dental, life and disability insurance, as well as a comprehensive leave program based on employment status. The hourly pay range for this position is $21.57 per hour - $21.57 per hour.

Work Hours

The work hours for this position are approximately 10:00 am - 6:30 pm, Mon - Fri + Weekends.

Key Purpose

The Lead Cleaner oversees the daily cleaning tasks of the cleaning/janitorial team while keeping assigned areas, such as offices, commercial spaces, industrial spaces, or institutional buildings, in a clean and orderly condition. You will work successfully with fellow employees, clients, and all levels of the organization. You are expected to understand and follow instructions, both verbal and written, and explain how to complete a task using basic communication skills.

Success Criteria

  1. Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
  2. Perform work assignments in a team with other employees
  3. Solve minor cleaning issues
  4. Train new employees on cleaning procedures and chemicals
  5. Follow all company procedures, policies, and rules
  6. Take direction and respond to supervision
  7. Communicate with the team, co-workers, managers, and customers professionally
  8. Fill in during staff shortages
  9. Support Cleaning Manager in completing punch-list items
  10. Use proper personal protective equipment
  11. Present a professional appearance and conduct
  12. Understand reporting systems and the environment

Ideal Candidate Experience

  1. 2+ years of commercial janitorial experience
  2. Understand that safety is a top priority and comply with all safety rules, policies, and procedures
  3. Must be a team player and committed to working in a fast-paced, quality environment
  4. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

Key Accountabilities

  1. Support and train new cleaners
  2. Stocking and inventorying supply closets
  3. Cleaning and stocking restrooms and breakrooms
  4. Window cleaning
  5. Emptying trash and transporting to proper disposal area
  6. Sweeping and mopping floors
  7. Assist Cleaning Manager with day-to-day operations
  8. May perform other duties as assigned

Physical Demands & Work Environment

To perform the necessary functions and tasks of the job you are required to: Stand 33%, Walk >66%, Sit <10%. Use of hands to finger, handle, rub, grip, and feel <66%. Reach above shoulders <33%. Push/pull and grasp with hands and arms 33-50%. Climb or balance <33%. Stoop, Kneel, Crouch, or Crawl <33%. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time. Frequently lift 0-13 pounds. Must be able to work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods.
