Job summary

Grande Prairie & District Catholic Schools is seeking a Classroom Supervisor for casual day-to-day assignments in the Grande Prairie region. The role involves presenting teacher-prepared lessons, supervising students under the principal’s direction, and maintaining student privacy in line with FOIPP regulations.

The ideal candidate has some experience in childcare or education and must obtain a clean Police Information Check and Intervention Record Check within six months.

Responsibilities

• Present teacher-prepared lessons and supervise students under the direction of the school Principal.
• Seek advice of the school Principal prior to engaging in disciplinary action.
• Adhere to FOIPP regulations with respect to school and student privacy.
• Classroom Supervisors must complete a paid orientation/follow-up program with training and discussions.
• Classroom Supervisors may shadow a classroom teacher for a period of time.
• Supervision in the classroom by the Principal and possibly by District Personnel.

Classroom Supervisor

Grande Prairie & District Catholic Schools covers a geographical area that includes the regional communities of Grande Prairie, Beaverlodge, Sexsmith, and Spirit River. We are a team of 600 staff who provide quality teaching and learning experiences for approximately 5,400 students.

Position Overview

This is a casual day-to-day assignment for one day emergent situations. The ideal candidate will have some experience in childcare or education.

Duties

• Present teacher-prepared lessons and supervise students under the direction of the school Principal.
• Seek advice of the school Principal prior to engaging in disciplinary action.
• Adhere to FOIPP regulations with respect to school and student privacy.
• Classroom Supervisors are required to complete a paid orientation/follow-up program consisting of training and follow-up discussions. Classroom Supervisors may also be asked to "shadow" a classroom teacher for a period of time.
• Classroom Supervisors will be supervised in the classroom by the Principal and possibly by District Personnel.

Desired Qualifications

• Individuals with Degrees, Diplomas, or Certificates from a recognized College or University.
• Present a clean Police Information Check and Intervention Record Check that is no older than 6 months old.
