Classroom Facilitator (Teaching Assistant) - Nashville, TN

Position Overview

The Teaching Assistant works inside the prison classroom monitoring Persevere students as they work through the coding curriculum under the guidance of a remote instructor. This full-time position offers excellent benefits and pays up to $45,000 annually. The role requires passing a reference check, background check, and drug screening.

Responsibilities include:

  • Participating in facility training
  • Serving as the on-site representative of Persevere
  • Maintaining classroom safety and security
  • Setting up A/V equipment for instruction and guest speakers
  • Troubleshooting technical issues
  • Communicating regularly with the instructor and employment specialist
  • Assisting with career readiness presentations
  • Grading assessments and assignments
  • Completing reentry paperwork
  • Organizing student interviews and taking attendance
  • Completing required forms and corporate training
  • Assisting in creating standard operating procedures
  • Participating in staff cross-training
  • Performing other duties as assigned
