An educational non-profit organization is seeking a Classroom Assistant to volunteer in the Northwest Territories. This role involves tutoring students, participating in community activities, and promoting educational outcomes in Indigenous communities. Applicants should have a completed university degree or college diploma and a passion for teaching. The position requires physical presence in the Northwest Territories for the school year, from August 2024 to June 2025.
Volunteer Location : Various schools in the Northwest Territories, Canada
Please note that this is not a remote opportunity and requires physical presence in the Northwest Territories for the entire duration.
Placement duration : August 24, 2024 - June 25, 2025 (school year)
Language Requirements : English Level 5 - Fluent
Eligibility : Open to Canadian Citizens (including Permanent Residents and Open Work permit holders) and United Kingdom Citizens only

Your role as a Classroom Assistant will be invaluable in the classroom. You will have the opportunity to use your skills as an educator to inspire and motivate students in Indigenous communities. Sharing your knowledge and experiences, you will encourage students to learn, pursue higher education, and believe in their potential!
As a volunteer, you will participate in the e-learning program for students in grades 4-12, connecting classrooms across Northern Canada. You will collaborate with teachers, participate in classroom and extracurricular activities, and engage with the community to build meaningful connections and gain a deeper understanding of Indigenous cultures.
