Job description

Teaching Personnel have an exciting opportunity for aClassroom Assistantto join our committed and supportive team in Pembroke & Surrounding Area

Part-time&Fulltimepositions available, ranging from 1-5 days per week starting as early 1st Septemeber for the next academic year.

What will the role involve?

  • Supervise and provide particular support on a 1:1 basis and deliver group activities from the teacher planning.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of individual Education/Behaviour Plans and Personal Care programmes.
  • Set challenging and demanding expectations and promote self-esteem and independence.
  • Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under guidance of the teacher.
  • Establish constructive relationships with pupils and interact with them according to individual needs.
  • Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils.
  • Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher
  • On the job training through the school, helping you better understand the schools aims and culture
  • Additional development opportunities through Teaching Personnel always available, including our Team Teach training which is invaluable to furthering your development

The ideal candidate:

  • Ideally you will have previous experience working with children.
  • Ideally you will have previous experience working with children or adults with learning difficulties or working with individuals with varied challenging behaviours and personal care requirements.
  • Someone who can demonstrate the necessary nurturing qualities required to work closely who may require 1:1 support
  • Be friendly, enthusiastic, adaptable, and reliable
  • Teaching Assistant qualification is ideal but not essential

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE, YOU MUST:

  • Driver with access to own vehicle (Essential)
  • Have the Right to Work in the UK with proof of documentation
  • Be registered (or willing to register) with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) & Disclose & Baring Service (DBS)
  • Provide 24 months’ worth of references, including any related references you may have worked with children.
