Job description

Part Time / Full Time

Education
Tasks
  1. Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS), or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
  2. Load and unload goods.
  3. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
  4. Oversee vehicle condition and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
  5. Perform emergency roadside repairs.
  6. Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of vehicle maintenance.
  7. Perform preventive maintenance.
  8. Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
  9. Record cargo details, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
  10. Ensure cargo safety and security, including tarping as needed.
  11. Maintain knowledge of highway trucking rules and regulations.
