Job description

Base pay starts at $30.00 per hour

Shift: Full-Time Day Shift

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Driver will be expected to transport and deliver building materials to our customers, distribution centers, and/or construction sites using a tractor-trailer. This role requires safe driving, customer service, and efficient material handling. It is a hands-on OTR delivery position.

1. Safely assist in unloading the product using a Moffett to the customer's location and/or return products.
2. Deliver material in a route/multi-drop fashion according to Federal regulations.
3. Apply knowledge of commercial driving, maneuvering the vehicle in difficult situations such as heavy traffic, bad weather, or tight loading docks.
4. Maintain records for compliance with State and Federal regulations, including driver logs, fuel purchases, and mileage records.
5. Perform duties in accordance with company policies and comply with all safety regulations for operating a commercial vehicle.
6. Answer questions about packing lists, invoices, packaging, and material content; direct customers to appropriate contacts if needed.
7. Perform pre- and post-trip inspections thoroughly.
8. Maintain cleanliness and integrity of the vehicle and equipment.
9. Report any necessary repairs or maintenance promptly.
10. Ensure compliance with DOT guidelines.
11. Complete 2-3 overnight runs per week.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Acceptable accident and violation record.
• At least 2 years of tractor-trailer flatbed driving experience, including winter driving (Military DD214 experience acceptable).
• Valid Medical Card.
• Ability to pass DOT pre-employment drug screen and physical.
• Ability to work independently and effectively with others in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to safety and injury prevention.
• Physical ability to stoop, bend, stand for long periods, and maintain alertness.
• Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
