Now Hiring – Class 5 Driver

Location: 2345 Alyth Road SE, Calgary (on a bus route)

Note: Star will be moving to a new facility at 292109 Prime Close, Rocky View County, AB (behind the Century Downs Racetrack/Casino in Balzac). This new location is not on a bus route.

Requirements:

• Completion of high school, able to read, write, and perform basic math
• Minimum 3 months of delivery experience
• Valid Class 5 license and satisfactory driver’s abstract
• Satisfactory criminal record check
• Physical assessment clearance
• Attention to detail, good hand/eye coordination, situational awareness
• Ability to kneel, crouch, lift, carry, push, or pull up to 75 lbs
• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights up to 24’ on rooftops

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with building materials
• Manual transmission operation
• Trailer maneuvering
• Crane operation experience
• Rigging and load securement experience

Job Overview: Reporting to the Yard Manager, responsible for delivering building materials to customer sites, loading, transporting, and manually unloading materials.

Your Daily Responsibilities:

• Provide excellent customer service
• Load trucks safely and efficiently
• Verify shipping documents
• Deliver materials using the most efficient route
• Follow safety procedures and operate equipment properly
• Maintain equipment condition
• Communicate effectively
• Handle relations tactfully
• Plan and organize loadings
• Problem solve and make decisions
• Use apps for safety, inspections, proof of delivery
• Operate delivery units courteously and legally

Work Conditions: Mostly outdoors, exposure to hazards, weather, heights, noise, occasional weekends/evenings, overtime during busy seasons.
