JOB DESCRIPTION

Midland Courier is currently seeking a Courier Owner Operator Driver based in Dartmouth, NS Terminal. The selected candidate will be reliable, with a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and exceptional customer service skills.

Main Role:

1. Manage time, pick up and receive courier/packages, and ensure accurate and timely delivery to our clients' customers.
2. Maintain a great attitude and provide exceptional customer service.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 06:30 to 17:00.

Area: Bridgewater, Liverpool, Greenfield, Caledonia.

What We Offer:

• Competitive hourly rate of $58.40.
• Excess KM Supplement of $0.408/km for over 105 km/day on normal delivery routes.
• Tailgate allowance of $1.50/hour if supplied by the owner, paid on all driving hours.
• Fuel purchased at authorized stops will be charged at $0.408 per liter/gallon.
• Uniform allowance of $367.50 per year.
• Training provided.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Follow pickup and delivery procedures.
• Load and unload the cube van safely to avoid damaging packages.
• Maintain company equipment standards.
• Process daily pickup and delivery records.
• Ensure timely delivery.
• Communicate effectively with customers.
• Drive and operate equipment (Hand Cart) following safety procedures and traffic laws.
• Work according to safety regulations, company rules, and procedures.
• Report incidents, accidents, injuries, or damages.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School diploma or GED.
• Class 5 driver's license with at least 2 years of safe commercial driving experience.
• Clean driving record and criminal background check.
• Reliable cargo/cube van (capacity 120-200 cubic feet) in good condition.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs with proper equipment.
• Strong work ethic and reliability.
• Safety-conscious.
• Applicant must brand the Midland logos in green on their vehicle.
