Job summary

Canada Cartage in Duncan, BC is seeking a part-time Class 3 driver with exceptional customer service for Saturdays. You will perform local deliveries within the surrounding area, conduct pre-trip inspections, and handle straight truck/curtain side and flatbed operations.

The role includes coordinating loading/unloading with the dispatcher and maintaining cargo security. A valid Class 3 license with air brakes and a clean driver’s abstract are required.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year driving experience.
• Class 3 license with air brakes required.
• Driver’s abstract issued within the last 30 days.
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
• Positive team attitude; ability to follow directions.
• Must be willing to complete a criminal record check.

Responsibilities

• Local deliveries within Duncan and surrounding areas.
• Conduct routine pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle is in good condition.
• Operate Straight Truck/Curtain Side and Flatbed as required.
• Saturday day shift with potential for additional shifts.
• Coordinate loading/unloading and verify cargo; ensure proper storage and securing.
• Maintain contact with dispatcher for status updates and delays.

What you will do

• Local deliveries withinSaanichand surrounding areas
• Conduct routine inspections prior to departure to ensure the vehicle is in optimal condition
• Straight Truck/Curtain side and flatbed
• Saturday day shift as well as opportunities for additional shifts
• Coordinate the loading and unloading of the truck, verifying cargo and ensuring items are properly stored and secured
• Maintain contact with dispatcher to provide status updates, clarify special instructions, and notify about delays or issues during transport

What You’ll Bring

• 6 months up to 1 year experience
• Basic reading, communication skills to follow direction
• Class 3 license with air brakes
• Moffett or Forklift certification is an asset
• Driver’s abstract issued within the last 30 days
• Positive team attitude
• Must be willing to complete a criminal record check
