Qualifications

  • Valid Class 3 or DZ license with air brakes is required.
  • Minimum of 1 year driving experience with clean driving abstract.
  • WHMIS/TDG certification is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver, load and offload hardgoods and cylinders.
  • Maintain load manifests and vehicle documents.
  • Establish and maintain good customer relations.
  • Ensure compliance with transport regulations.
  • Complete vehicle inspections and report hazards.
  • Use handheld technology for delivery processing.

Purpose:

Reporting to the Branch Manager, this position is responsible for customer deliveries and pickups while positively representing our organization to Messer customers by providing outstanding customer service.

What you’ll do:
  • Deliver, load and offload hardgoods and cylinders containing gas products to customer locations within assigned geographical area.
  • Maintain load manifests and all required vehicle documents by ensuring they are accurately completed and reconciled with truck counts and shipping documents before and after deliveries.
  • Establish and maintain good customer relations by listening to and helping resolve customer inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with provincial and federal transport regulations.
  • Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections documenting deficiencies; ensures all safety items are in good working order. Report any hazard to Supervisor.
  • Perform administrative duties including use of handheld technology to process deliveries and reconcile agent consignment inventory balances.
What it takes: Education and Experience:
  • Valid Class 3 or DZ license with air brakes is required.
  • Minimum of 1 year driving experience with clean driving abstract and training from a recognized driving school or 3 years driving experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Key Skills and Attributes:
  • Ability to handle and lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the gas and/or welding industry an asset.
