Qualifications

  • Valid Class 1 or Class 3 Driver's License is mandatory.
  • First Aid and H2S Alive safety certifications required.

Job description

Clean Harbors Fort St. John, BC is looking for Class 1 or 3 Drivers /Operators to join their safety conscious team! The successful candidates will be responsible for driving and operating equipment, including but not limited to: High Pressure Trucks, Vacuum Trucks and Chemical Units.

Please be advised it is mandatory for candidates to hold valid First Aid and H2S Alive safety certifications prior to starting this position. Proof of certifications will be requested during the recruitment process.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
  • Safely drive equipment to and from work sites and operate units while on site;
  • Transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste to a Clean Harbors or 3rd party disposal facility;
  • Maintain and build client relations by providing high levels of customer service;
  • Complete all required paperwork on a daily basis, such as pre/post trip inspection reports and field level risk assessments;
  • Assuring equipment has daily maintenance duties performed and communicates any problems with the unit immediately upon discovery.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Class 1 or Class 3 Driver's License required;
  • Ability to operate 18 speed manual transmission is required;
  • Safety Tickets required: First Aid with CPR and H2S Alive;
  • Other safety tickets preferred, extra training to be provided by branch;
  • Experience operating equipment such as Combo, Vac, High Pressure, Chemical Unit, Tanker, Hot Oiler, dry ice or core cleaning is an asset;
  • Capable of working outdoors in various weather conditions for extended periods of time;
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team and safety focused environment;
  • Ability to lift 50lbs regularly throughout the day.
