Qualifications

JOB DESCRIPTION

Midland Transport is currently seeking a Class 1 Yard Shunt Driver based in Concord, Ontario Terminal. The selected candidate will be a reliable person with a strong work ethic, great and positive attitude with a commitment to providing a Superior Quality service.

Main Role:

Manage time and ensure accurate and timely movement of the trailer in and out of the Terminal doors.

Shift:

Mon - Fri (1900 - 0330)

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Moving trailers within the terminal safely and efficiently.
  • Refuel refrigerated units as required.
  • Perform routine checks on the reefers and conduct yard checks.
  • Maintain company equipment standards.
  • Ensure timely movement of trailers to assigned locations.
  • Communicate efficiently with the Supervisor.
  • Report any incident, accident, injury, damage immediately.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education Required: High School or GED.
  • Class 1 driver's license with a minimum of 2 years' safe tractor driving experience required.
  • Clean driver's abstract and criminal search.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to lift to 75 lbs. using the proper equipment.
  • Excellent work ethic and reliability.
