Job summary

Sutco Transportation, a proud member of The Sutherland Group of Companies, seeks a Class 1 Truck Driver to haul wood chips in Quesnel, BC. You’ll follow safety protocols, perform inspections, and ensure timely delivery while maintaining logs in ISAAC.

Qualifications

• Class 1 licence required and valid for BC operations.
• Willingness to work rotational shifts including days and nights.
• Minimum 2 years of trucking experience preferred.
• Mountain driving and Super-B experience preferred.
• Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre and post trip inspections of equipment.
• Load and unload wood residual fibre safely.
• Transport freight securely and tarps as required.
• Chain-up vehicle per road conditions.
• Record hours, vehicle status and maintenance in ISAAC.
• Maintain clean and safe trucks at shift end.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct pre and post trip inspections on equipment operated, ensuring safety, road worthiness and regulatory compliance.
• Load and unload wood residual fibre products in a safe and efficient manner.
• Ensure safe transportation of freight by securing goods while loading and unloading.
• Tarp vehicle using manual or auto tarps as available.
• Chain-up vehicle based on road conditions.
• Complete all electronic records regarding working hours, vehicle status and maintenance records using the industry’s best fleet management system, ISAAC.
• Ensure trucks are left clean and safe at the end of each shift.

Required Qualifications & Skills

As a member of the Sutco Transportation team, we expect you bring the following to the table:

• Class 1 Driver’s Licence
• Willingness to do rotational shift work
• 2 years of trucking experience preferred
• Mountain driving and Super-B experience preferred
• Acceptable commercial driver’s abstract, based on Sutco’s abstract review policy
• Ability to pass pre-employment Drug & Alcohol Testing
