Overview

CLASS 1 TRUCK DRIVER (NOC 73300)

Job Title: Class 1 Truck Driver

Number of Positions: One

Location of Work: Saskatoon

Responsibilities

• Operate and drive primarily straight trucks to transport goods and materials mainly on local routes and short interurban routes.
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle such as condition of equipment, and loading and unloading of cargo.
• May drive special purpose trucks such as tow trucks, dump trucks, hydrovac trucks or cement mixing trucks.
• Operating tandems and/or truck & pup in and around the Saskatoon area.
• Prepare all commercial driving documentation as required (pre/post inspections, logbooks, hazard assessments, etc.)
• Prepare load / delivery documentation as needed.
• Completion of commercial carrier requirements.
• Load and unload materials in congested areas.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience with operating tandems / truck and pup
• Valid Class 1 driver’s licence
• Clean driver’s abstract
• Commercial carrier training
• Ability to maneuver in tight spaces / congested areas
• Reliability: show up for work punctually and fit for duty
• Physically fit and capable of heavy manual labour (lifting / moving up to 50lbs)

Work Conditions
