Qualifications

Position Summary

We are looking for a professional and safety-oriented Class 1 Truck Driver, you will have the ability to work well with minimal supervision and have a strong sense of urgency to complete tasks promptly and safely. Operates a large or heavy truck that transports cargo to and from specified locations on time and according to schedule. Role involves adhering to all traffic and safety regulations, conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and ensuring the timely delivery of cargo to its destination.

What you will do

  • Operates vehicle safely and responsibly, adhering to all DOT and company safety regulations.
  • Conducts routine inspections prior to departure to ensure the vehicle is in optimal condition.
  • Manages appropriate cargo documentation and provides necessary paperwork upon the delivery of goods.
  • Coordinates the loading and unloading of the truck, verifying cargo and ensuring items are properly stored and secured.
  • Maintains contact with dispatcher to provide status updates, clarify special instructions, and notify about delays or issues during transport.

What You’ll Bring

  • Valid Class 1/AZ License is required
  • Clean 5 years Commercial driving abstract (no more than 3 demerits and 3 negative events)
  • Minimum 1 year Class 1 driving experience required
  • Must have manual transmission experience
  • Must have hand bombing experience
  • Must have excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Comfortable with smartphone technology
  • Reliable, flexible, punctual and safe driving behaviors
  • Comfortable backing in all manner of tight spaces and locations
  • Must be bondable and legally able to work in Canada
