Job summary

Birch Mountain Enterprises is seeking experienced Class 1 Operators at our Fort McKay shop to safely operate water, sewer, vacuum, Hydro-Vac, tanker and other heavy units. TDG knowledge and a clean driving record are required, with 3+ years of manual transmission experience and industrial hauling exposure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate multiple unit types (Water, Sewer, Vacuum, Hydro-Vac, Tanker, etc.) safely and efficiently.
• Complete daily logs, field level risk assessments, and pre/post trip inspections.
• Follow Dispatch/Supervisor instructions and maintain truck cleanliness and readiness.
• Attend daily toolbox and safety meetings and adhere to site safety regulations.
• Maintain and operate all tools and equipment to required standards and training kept current.

Must be TDG knowledgeable, witha minimum of 3 years manual transmission experience and previous Fluid hauling experience such as D-sand, processed water, sewer, bitumen, on the follow types of equipment: Semi-vac, Hydro-vac and tanker.

Job Summary:

Operating from our Fort McKay main shop, this position involves the safe operation ofseveral types of Class 1 or 3 units. Operators should be mechanically inclined and physically fit to work in all kinds of weather. Preference will be given to candidates that possess previous experience in the industrial sector.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operateseveral types of units (Water, sewer,Vacuum, Hydro-Vac, Roll off, Steam truck, Flat bed, Tanker, B-Train)in a safe and efficientmanner.
• Must be physically able to perform tasks and work in allweather.
• Completion of daily documentation including but not limited to dailylogbooks, customer work orders, field level risk assessment, pre/post tripinspections.
• Follow instructions for tasks assigned by Dispatch or Supervisor.
• Complete daily housekeeping of assigned truck to ensure maintenance of companyimage.
• Attend dailytoolboxand safety meetings as scheduled and adhere to corporate and site safety regulations and procedures.
• Maintain and operate all BME tools and equipment to the required standards andprocedures.
• Ensure that all training is keptcurrent.
• Follow all TDG and WHMIS standards andregulations.
• Seek out continuous improvementopportunities.
• Provide customer-focused services in allactivities.

Qualifications:

• Possess a valid Class 1 driver's license with clean driver's abstract.
• Minimum 3years experienceincluding up to 18 speed manual class 1 or 3 equipment.
• Previous or relatedexperience operatingWater, Vacuum, Hydro orComboVac units.
• Minedriveexperience is anasset.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• OSSA (or BSO/CSO) and CSTS certification.
• Certification in Transportation of Dangerous Good, Daily Trip Inspections, Provincial Hours of Service for Alberta, Weights and Dimensions, Cargo Securement for flatbeds, WHMIS, and H2S Alive considered an asset.
• Must successfully pass BME driver's evaluation, Drug and Alcohol and fit for duty pre-employmentscreening.
