CLASS 1 DRIVER

Overland West Freight Lines Ltd. is your key to reach your full potential. We are looking for an energetic and hardworking Class 1 Driver to join our team!

Job Summary

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Class 1 Driver provides daily pick-up and delivery service to/from our Prince George facility and the surrounding area. This role requires physical labour, including using a manual pallet jack.

Shift

Monday to Friday; 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Location

Prince George, BC

Key Responsibilities

• Pre-trips equipment daily and reports per company requirements
• Communicates with dispatch to ensure efficient route planning
• Communicates with clients on site to ensure delivery services meets or exceeds expectations
• Delivers loads daily in an efficient and safe manner
• Conducts daily vehicle inspections and reports any problems
• Reports road incidents to the Dispatcher
• Maintains a positive attitude with customers/clients

Qualification Requirements:

• Professional attitude when interacting with customers and coworkers
• Experience operating and maintaining a commercial vehicle to DOT safety regulations
• Current Class 1 Driver’s license with clean COMMERCIAL driver’s abstract
• Basic geographical knowledge of Prince George and the surrounding areas
• Experience driving a manual transmission required
• Ability to lift freight up to 50 lbs.
• Available to work full-time, Monday to Friday
• Experience or certification to operate a forklift an asset
• May be asked to drive 5 ton truck when needed

Compensation & Benefits:

• Union position, $29.33 per hour.
• Comprehensive benefits package available including pension matching program upon successful completion of probationary period.
