Job summary

Linde Canada Inc. is seeking a Class 1 DOT Driver (full time) based in Varennes, QC, to safely deliver bulk liquid products between Linde plants and customer sites.

You will work up to 70 hours per week on a 4ON/4OFF rotating schedule or a 4ON/3OFF night shift, performing inspections and ensuring safety and compliance. You will handle cryogenic and refrigerated liquids, complete TDG/WHMIS documentation, use e-logs, wear PPE, and travel across the US when required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Valid Class AZ license with relevant driving experience.
  • 3+ years tanker liquid trailer driving experience.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver bulk liquid products safely between Linde plants and customer sites.
  • Perform required equipment inspections to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Enter and exit the cab using 3-point contact; hoses up to 50 lbs.
  • Complete TDG, trip reports, fuel tickets, and other reports.
  • Use e-logs and computerized systems to meet delivery and compliance requirements.
  • Cross United States borders when required; obtain FAST card.
  • Work away from home base for extended periods.

Class 1 DOT Driver (full time)

The DOT Driver is accountable for the safe delivery of bulk liquid products between Linde production plants and customer sites.

What you will enjoy doing*

  • In this role, you will work up to 70 hours per week, for 14 hours per day, on either a 4ON/4OFF rotating shift or a 4ON/3OFF night shift schedule
  • Complete required equipment inspections to ensure safety and compliance
  • You will enter and exit the cab multiple times a day, using 3-point contact, from a height of 3 feet above the ground
    In addition, you will handle hoses weighing up to 50 lbs. as part of daily tasks
  • You will stand outside for up to 90 minutes at a time to monitor loading and unloading processes
  • Deliver cryogenics and refrigerated liquid products safely to scheduled customers is part of your role
  • You will complete all required documentation, including Transportation of Dangrous Goods (TDG) paperwork, trip reports, fuel tickets, and other necessary reports
  • Use computerized systems and e-logs to meet delivery and compliance requirements
  • Moreover, you will always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing duties
  • Conduct site surveys of equipment and identify potential repairs for tanks at customer locations
  • Also, you will cross United States borders when required, including obtaining a FAST Card and meeting United States Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements
  • Work away from home base for extended periods if required

What makes you great*

  • You hold a high school diploma or equivalent experience
  • Possess a valid, incident-free provincial Class AZ Driver’s License for at least 36 months, with 24 months of relevant driving experience using similar equipment
  • Additionally, you have at least three (3) years of experience driving tanker liquid trailers, including b-trains
  • Trained in Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
  • You maintain a clean Driver’s Abstract with no demerits
  • Hold a valid Free and Secure Trade (FAST) Card
  • You are registered and compliant with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Clearinghouse requirements
