Job Purpose
Reporting to the President & Operations Manager, the purpose of the Class 1 / 3 Driver is the safe, efficient, and timely transportation of dangerous goods over land to and from sites to disposal.
Key Duties & Responsibilities of a Class 1 / 3 Driver
Key Responsibilities Include (but Are Not Limited To)
- Inspecting vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
- Planning routes and meeting delivery schedules
- Document and log work (e-log) / rest periods and kilometres spent driving
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
- Collect and verify delivery instructions
- Report defects, accidents or violations
- Responsible for making safety performance and environmental awareness the primary focus for all assigned tasks
- With minimal supervision, the Operator must be able to operate assigned equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Responsible for mobilization of equipment by driving trucks to and from the job location
- Maintain satisfactory driving record as defined by FluidPRO’s motor vehicle insurance carrier
- Monitors, inspects and adjusts all major equipment during operations to ensure the equipment’s adequate operation, such as adjusting pump and injection rates
- Perform duties according to Policy and comply with all requirements of the Safety Manual, Standard Operating Procedures and Work Place Instructions
- Perform various other duties assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job
- Flexibility to work days or evenings and out of town if required
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications are as follows:
- Minimum of Three (3) Years of relevant Class 1 Experience
- Knowledge of the transportation industry regulations
- Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team
- Strong work ethic and a positive team attitude
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Basic mechanical skills
- Clean drivers abstract
- Ability to clean unit inside and out
