Our team, based on the unceded territories of the Squamish, Tsleil-Waututh, and Musqueam in Vancouver, consists of Indigenous and non-Indigenous professionals with diverse backgrounds in communications, engagement, policy development, natural resource management, and sustainable economic development.
Our services are organized into five practice groups: Negotiation, Governance and Policy, Economic Development, Strategic Engagement and Communications, Settlements and Social Change. This role will focus on a large, long-term First Nations Child and Family Services and Jordan’s Principle Settlement, which was approved by the Federal Court on October 24, 2023. The settlement involves $23.34 billion in compensation for impacted First Nations individuals and their families, addressing issues from 1991 to 2022 related to child welfare and essential services.
The Claims Helper Manager will report to the Claims Helper Program Co-Lead and will oversee a team of front-line Claims Helpers. Responsibilities include supporting Claimants through various communication methods, ensuring effective support, and fostering an inclusive, trauma-informed environment. The role involves providing guidance, monitoring team performance, and assisting Claimants with claim forms and wellness resources. Fluency in both French and English is required, as the role supports Claimants across multiple provinces, including Quebec.
This virtual role involves managing remote Claims Helpers, supporting Claimants via phone or online, with flexible scheduling including potential shift work across time zones. Travel is not expected.
