SUMMARY :

The Claims Coordinator manages daily administration of Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) claims, including data entry of employee accident reports into the Parklane system and responding to claims inquiries. The role involves representing the company's interests through correspondence with WSIB and gathering information regarding claim objections.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :

  1. Review accident investigations to ensure all necessary information is collected; follow up with stores as needed.
  2. Complete and send all required forms to WSIB promptly.
  3. Contact workers to establish immediate modified Return to Work programs.
  4. Prepare correspondence to WSIB regarding workers' objections to immediate accommodations.
  5. Write letters to WSIB regarding objections or requests for the Second Injury and Enhancement Fund (SIEF).
  6. Serve as the primary contact for claims inquiries from store management, injured workers, HR staff, and WSIB personnel.
  7. Complete employer reports requested by WSIB.
  8. Maintain communication with WSIB regarding objections and claims issues.
  9. Handle all hearing loss claims submissions.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • College education (2 years) in a relevant field.
  • 1-3 years relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of Workers' Compensation and WSIB legislation.
  • Proficiency with Parklane systems is an asset.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of SAP is preferred.
