Intact in Ontario is seeking a dynamic Long-Haul Trucking Claims Advisor for a 6-month secondment/contract. Based in Ontario, you’ll handle physical damage and cargo claims across Canada and the US, analyzing policies to determine coverage and entitlement, and coordinating settlements with customers, brokers, claimants, lawyers, and other insurers.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of commercial auto claims experience; CIP designation is an asset, as are knowledge of provincial auto

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience adjusting commercial auto claims.
• Long Haul Trucking experience is a plus.
• CIP designation is considered a strong asset.
• Knowledge of provincial auto insurance legislation and Atlantic provincial licenses is an asset.
• Bilingual English/French is an asset.

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented below is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

What you’ll do here:

• Dive into both routine and complex claims, analyzing insurance policies to determine coverage and assess fair entitlements.
• Engage in timely and respectful communication with customers, brokers, claimants, lawyers, and other insurers to effectively resolve claims.
• Spearhead investigations and settlements of cargo and environmental losses, while managing cases that span across Canada and the US.
• Collaborate with our Bodily Injury team on significant losses to mitigate exposure and ensure compliance with legislative requirements.

What you bring to the table:

• CIP designation is considered a strong asset
• Knowledge of provincial legislation governing auto insurance; Atlantic Provincial Licenses is considered a strong asset.
• At least 2 years of experience adjusting commercial auto claims; Long Haul Trucking experience is a plus.
• Bilingualism in English and French is an asset.
• Expertise in handling moderate to complex claims and practicing effective negotiation.
• Strong analytical skills paired with decision‑making prowess and excellent time management.
