We have an excellent opportunity in our Home Warranty Insurance Claims department. This role is open to candidates in Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Oakville, or Markham. In this role, you will learn about Home Warranty and the claims process, manage claims submitted by homeowners under policies of home warranty insurance, and handle your own set of claims to resolution. You will support the team in the prompt and efficient processing of warranty claims in accordance with established policies and procedures.

As a claims adjuster, you are passionate about helping the team and motivated to provide premier service. You focus on the customer experience and are eager to learn and develop your career.

What You’ll Do

  • Verify policy coverage, assess construction defects and liability, and work with Developers / Builders and Homeowners to ensure appropriate resolution within policy terms while satisfying all partners, including provincial regulators.
  • Maintain claim records, including observations, documentation, communications, decisions, expenditures, and reserves.
  • Ensure the best customer experience with timely claims decisions, prompt payments, recovery opportunities, and accurate claim closures.
  • Communicate with Underwriting and Technical Services to manage risks and improve future service for homeowners and builders/developers.

What You’ll Bring

  • 2 years’ experience in a customer service role.
  • Experience in general insurance, especially in surety and warranty claims, is preferred.
  • Experience in development or residential construction is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel; knowledge of Xact-Analysis and web databases is beneficial.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, investigation, negotiation, and communication skills.
