Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years experience adjusting commercial auto claims.
  • Knowledge of provincial auto insurance legislation.
  • Bilingual in English and French is an asset.

About The Role

As part of our Specialty Lines Auto team, you will be responsible for investigating routine and complex Physical Damage claims for Intact Public Entities and Entertainment customers.

This position can be based in any of the following Intact offices across Canada:

  • Ontario: Ajax/London/Mississauga/Ottawa/Richmond Hill/Toronto (700 University Avenue)
  • Atlantic: Dartmouth NS/Dieppe NB/St John’s NL
What You’ll Do Here
  • Analyze and interpret insurance policy wording to determine coverage and assess entitlements which are fair and equitable
  • Communicate in a timely and respectful manner with the customer, brokers, claimants, lawyers and other insurers to resolve claims.
  • Ensure all cases are clearly documented and meet legislative requirements
  • Collaborate with our Bodily Injury team on significant losses to mitigate exposure
  • Manage losses and claims on both Intact Public Entities (IPE) & Entertainment accounts
What You Bring To The Table
  • University degree or relevant training and experience
  • Completed or working toward a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation
  • Minimum of 2 years experience adjusting commercial auto claims
  • Experience with municipalities or emergency vehicles is an asset
  • Ability to handle or oversee moderate to complex claims
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Knowledge of provincial auto insurance legislation
  • Atlantic Provincial Licenses are an asset, willing to secure them
  • Bilingual in English and French is an asset
