Qualifications

  • Long Haul Trucking experience is an asset.

About The Role

The Long-Haul Trucking Claims team is looking for a Long Haul Trucking Claims Adjuster (APD) to join them on a Full-Time Basis.

In this role, you will be responsible for investigating both routine and complex physical damage and cargo claims, ensuring prompt and fair settlements.

What You’ll Do Here

  • Analyze and interpret insurance policy wording to determine coverage and assess entitlements which are fair and equitable.
  • Communicate in a timely and respectful manner with the customer, brokers, claimants, lawyers and other insurers to resolve claims.
  • Investigate and settle Cargo and environmental losses.
  • Manage losses throughout Canada and US.
  • Ensure all cases are clearly documented and meet legislative requirements.
  • Collaborate with our Bodily Injury team on significant losses to mitigate exposure.
  • Support with Intact Public Entities & Entertainment Auto claims if required.

What You Bring To The Table

  • University degree or relevant training and experience.
  • Working toward a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation.
  • At least 2 years experience adjusting commercial auto claims; Long Haul Trucking experience is an asset.
  • Ability to handle or oversee moderate to complex claims.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of provincial auto insurance legislation.
  • Atlantic Provincial Licenses are a plus; willingness to secure such licenses.
