The Annapolis Valley Regional Centre for Education is seeking a School Counsellor for a 0.35 FTE term position. The successful candidate will guide and support students through the Comprehensive School Counselling Program and must hold a valid Teachers' License and a Master's degree in counselling. Interviews will be held in July, and applicants are encouraged to provide references and be available for calls during this period.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of appropriate teaching experience.
• Graduate degree in counselling from an accredited university.

SCHOOL COUNSELLOR

A professional school counsellor has a significant role to play in the design and delivery of the Comprehensive School Counselling Program. The school counsellor must be a licensed teacher with a graduate degree in counselling. The school counsellor must demonstrate competencies in the areas of knowledge, skill and attitude for Comprehensive Guidance and Counselling.

Qualifications

· A valid Nova Scotia Teachers License;

· Has five (5) years of appropriate teaching experience;

· Has a Masters of Education Degree in Counselling from an accredited university including a school based practicum.

Open Vacancy Round Hiring

• The Annapolis Valley Regional Centre for Education will conduct teacher interviews commencing on July 2 for the Open Vacancy hiring round.

• Interview teams will contact shortlisted applicants between June 18 and up to July 3 to make interview appointments. Applicants must be available to take these phone calls.

• Interviews will be held at Horton High School, 75 Greenwich Road S., Wolfville, from July 2-4.

• Successful applicants will be contacted between July 2 – July 4. All shortlistedapplicants will be contacted regardless of interview outcome.
