About This Role

Are you a military pilot seeking a second career or post-retirement opportunity? Do you want to continue enjoying the camaraderie of the Air Force while training the next generation of military pilots in Canada and being home for holidays? Join our team of military trained instructor pilots to help create a dynamic environment for students learning to fly and operate the CT156 Harvard, including instructional in-flight missions with RCAF students/instructors, briefing, debriefing, and evaluating mission performance.

As a contracted CAE Qualified Flight Instructor Pilot, you will provide inflight instruction on the CT156 aircraft, becoming qualified to instruct on various missions as per the ITP and your duties. You may also conduct staff development, QFI training, and must maintain RCAF currency and proficiency requirements.

Responsibilities include:
  • Perform instructional in-flight missions, including briefing and debriefing
  • Maintain proficiency and currency in accordance with applicable orders
  • Ensure student progress aligns with the ITP
  • Conduct comprehensive briefings and debriefings
  • Complete progress assessments and reports within 24 hours
  • Prepare instructional presentations and follow flight safety protocols
  • May perform Test Pilot duties as required
Minimum Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a qualified military pilot
  • Successfully complete RCAF conversion and instructor training on the CT156
  • Pass assessments administered by RCAF personnel
  • Military pilot experience with at least a two-year operational tour or equivalent
  • Attain Aircraft Commander status or equivalent qualification
  • English language proficiency (TOEFL) for non-native speakers
  • Maintain a TC category 1 medical and meet medical standards
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous CT156 NFTC QFI experience
  • Commercial Pilot’s License or higher
  • Flight lead experience
  • Experience in military instruction
  • Verbal French skills
