About This Role

As a military trained instructor pilot, you will help create an engaging environment for students learning to operate the CT156 Harvard, including conducting instructional in-flight missions with Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) students and instructors, and evaluating mission performance and readiness.

Contracted by the RCAF, CAE Qualified Flight Instructor Pilots will provide in-flight instruction on the CT156 aircraft.

CQFIs will be qualified to instruct on various missions such as Clearhood, Instrument, Navigation, Formation, and Composite, as per the ITP and assigned duties. They may also conduct staff development or QFI training and must maintain RCAF currency and proficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform instructional in-flight missions, including pre- and post-mission briefings and performance evaluations.
  2. Attend weather briefs relevant to flight times.
  3. Maintain proficiency and currency in accordance with applicable orders.
  4. Update FlightPro currencies and obligations.
  5. Ensure student progress aligns with the ITP.
  6. Provide comprehensive briefings and debriefings for each mission.
  7. Report student deficiencies to the Flight Commander.
  8. Complete and release progress cards within 24 hours of sorties.
  9. Assist in monitoring instructor continuity.
  10. Prepare and deliver instructional presentations and briefings.
  11. Follow Flight Safety protocols as per CAF standards.
  12. May perform Test Pilot duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a qualified military pilot and successful completion of RCAF conversion and instructor training on the CT156.
  • Must pass assessments administered by RCAF personnel.
  • Military pilot experience: minimum of a two-year operational tour or equivalent qualification.
  • English language proficiency: TOEFL scores in reading, listening, speaking, and writing at advanced levels.
  • Maintain a TC category 1 medical and meet medical requirements.
  • Body weight and anthropometric measurements within limits.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous CT156 NFTC QFI experience.
  • Commercial Pilot’s License or higher.
  • Experience as a flight lead in trainer or fighter aircraft.
  • Military instruction experience.
  • Verbal French skills.
Additional Information

Applicants must pass a security evaluation and obtain necessary re-transfer authorization per US ITAR regulations.
