JOB OVERVIEW

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and results-driven Civil/Structural Engineer to join our team.

Reporting to the Manager, Design Engineering, this position is responsible for civil design, analysis, and program work.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provide civil design analysis and oversight to the Darlington Nuclear Generating Station.
  • Support aging management and inspection programs for concrete, steel structures, liners, and coatings.
  • Work with the National Building Code of Canada, Ontario Building Code, CSA S16, CSA A23, etc., to provide solutions to urgent engineering requests.
  • Ensure responses are provided in compliance with CSA Nuclear Standards N287, N289, and N291.
  • Participate in OPG’s Engineering Change Control (ECC) process.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s degree considered an asset).
  • P.Eng license preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in civil or structural engineering.
  • Experience in civil design and analysis.
  • Knowledge of the National Building Code of Canada, Ontario Building Code, CSA standards.
  • Experience with CSA Nuclear Standards N287, N289, and N291 is an asset.
  • Proficiency in structural engineering applications and computer programs is an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be a fully licensed engineer in Ontario or eligible for licensing.
