Job summary

Ledcor Construction, Inc. seeks an experienced Quality Inspector to oversee inspections, QA/QC and documentation on a fast-paced project site in Merritt, BC.

You will support the Project QA/QC Manager and ensure adherence to quality processes across earthworks, concrete, and grout activities. You are a problem solver focused on continuous improvement with strong communication skills, coaching junior inspectors and helping drive site-wide quality standards.

Qualifications

• Civil Engineering degree or diploma is asset.
• 4+ years’ quality coordinator experience in a construction environment is required.
• Exposure to coordinating inspections of offsite suppliers and subcontractors is essential.
• Strong computer skills and MS Office.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect earthworks & soils (compaction, density, moisture, lift thickness).
• Lead concrete inspections with focus on foundations, formwork, rebar, embeds and curing.
• Inspect grouting and perform dimensional control & tolerance checks.
• Coordinate and review third-party testing (compaction/concrete).
• Verify work against drawings, specs, codes, and project requirements.
• Identify non-conformances, initiate reports, root-cause analysis, corrective actions.
• Maintain inspection records, test data, turnover documentation.
• Provide coaching to junior inspectors and site training.
• Participate in audits and quality improvement initiatives.

As an experienced Quality Inspector, you will oversee and coordinate all activities related to Inspections, Quality Assurance, and Quality Control on a fast-paced project site. Your responsibilities will include managing documents and procedures, ensuring adherence to quality processes, and supporting the Project QA/QC Manager in implementing and maintaining robust quality standards.

Essential Responsibilities

• Inspect earthworks & soils (compaction, density, moisture, lift thickness)
• Lead concrete inspections with a focus on foundations and pile caps, including formwork, rebar placement and cover, embeds, pre-placement verification, concrete placement, consolidation, curing, and post-placement activities
• Inspect grouting and perform dimensional control & tolerance checks
• Coordinate and review third-party testing (compaction testing, concrete testing, etc.)
• Verify work against drawings, specifications, relevant codes, and project requirements
• Identify non-conformances, initiate reports, perform root cause analysis, and support corrective actions
• Maintain accurate inspection records, test data, and turnover documentation.
• Provide coaching to junior inspectors and support site training
• Participate in audits and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Civil Engineering Degree or Civil Engineering Technology Diploma an asset
• Demonstrated technical knowledge of codes and standards, regulatory requirements and industry best practices
• 4+ years’ quality coordinator experience in a construction environment is required
• Exposure to coordinating inspections of offsite suppliers and subcontractors is essential
• Strong computer background, proficient in Microsoft Office
• Strong communication skills, confident interacting with key contacts in verbal, written and electronic form
• Strong interpersonal skills, a positive and team-oriented approach to work

Work Conditions

• This is a site-based staff position
• LOA, Travel Allowance
• 14 \\ 7 Shift Rotation

Compensation

$70,400.00 - $96,800.00

This is the expected base pay range for this role. Individual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience, knowledge, skills, education and location.
