Emil Anderson Construction (EAC) Inc. is seeking a Project Manager to join our team in B.C. Operations are based out of Kelowna; for the right candidate, options based in another location in Southern BC may be considered.
Responsibilities :
- Anticipate project needs with sufficient lead-time to avoid delays.
- Ensure project deliverables and plans are prepared and issued to the client in accordance with contract requirements.
- Develop and monitor resource requirements for the project, coordinating with other personnel and divisions to optimize resource utilization.
- Correspond with subcontractors and major suppliers to prepare contracts.
- Provide positive safety and quality leadership throughout the project.
- Work closely with the Operations Manager to monitor financial aspects of the contract, protecting both parties' interests.
- Monitor construction progress and update the Operations Manager to ensure projects are on schedule and within budget.
- Consult with project personnel to provide technical advice and proactively resolve problems.
- Mentor and lead on-site operations staff.
- Regularly review project cost variances and provide feedback to project teams.
- Demonstrate leadership in health, safety, and environmental protection.
- Maintain knowledge of health, safety, and environmental practices relevant to construction processes.
- Develop, maintain, and drive the construction schedule with the Operations Manager.
- Evaluate workmanship and quality, adhering to the company’s Quality Management program.
- Coordinate with the project team to issue material purchase orders and confirm receipt of materials and equipment returns.
- Supervise and mentor site personnel.
- Maintain detailed daily reports tracking site progress, events, inspections, and relevant information.
- Identify constructability issues in complex situations and develop solutions within the construction plan and schedule.
Qualifications :
- Minimum of 5 years of Project Management experience in self-perform civil construction.
- At least 3 years of experience managing in a unionized environment.
- Diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or Civil Technology.
- Strong knowledge of construction disciplines, cost control, scheduling, and safety regulations.
- Ability to handle daily challenges and ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Willingness to travel out of town.
- Knowledge of WorkSafeBC health and safety legislation and regulations.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
Salary Range : $105,000-$155,000 Annually
The salary will be discussed during the interview, considering candidate qualifications and experience.
