Emil Anderson Construction (EAC) Inc. is seeking a Project Manager to join our team in B.C. Operations are based out of Kelowna; for the right candidate, options based in another location in Southern BC may be considered.

Responsibilities :

  • Anticipate project needs with sufficient lead-time to avoid delays.
  • Ensure project deliverables and plans are prepared and issued to the client in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Develop and monitor resource requirements for the project, coordinating with other personnel and divisions to optimize resource utilization.
  • Correspond with subcontractors and major suppliers to prepare contracts.
  • Provide positive safety and quality leadership throughout the project.
  • Work closely with the Operations Manager to monitor financial aspects of the contract, protecting both parties' interests.
  • Monitor construction progress and update the Operations Manager to ensure projects are on schedule and within budget.
  • Consult with project personnel to provide technical advice and proactively resolve problems.
  • Mentor and lead on-site operations staff.
  • Regularly review project cost variances and provide feedback to project teams.
  • Demonstrate leadership in health, safety, and environmental protection.
  • Maintain knowledge of health, safety, and environmental practices relevant to construction processes.
  • Develop, maintain, and drive the construction schedule with the Operations Manager.
  • Evaluate workmanship and quality, adhering to the company’s Quality Management program.
  • Coordinate with the project team to issue material purchase orders and confirm receipt of materials and equipment returns.
  • Supervise and mentor site personnel.
  • Maintain detailed daily reports tracking site progress, events, inspections, and relevant information.
  • Identify constructability issues in complex situations and develop solutions within the construction plan and schedule.

Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 5 years of Project Management experience in self-perform civil construction.
  • At least 3 years of experience managing in a unionized environment.
  • Diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or Civil Technology.
  • Strong knowledge of construction disciplines, cost control, scheduling, and safety regulations.
  • Ability to handle daily challenges and ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to travel out of town.
  • Knowledge of WorkSafeBC health and safety legislation and regulations.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.

Salary Range : $105,000-$155,000 Annually

The salary will be discussed during the interview, considering candidate qualifications and experience.
